Don't know what to give as a gift? Give a gift card! You can find gift cards everywhere and for just about anything---for shopping in a favorite store, buying books, going to a favorite restaurant, renting movies and video games, or getting something for the house from a home improvement store. You can even give prepaid phone cards and even prepaid credit cards that can be used anywhere for anything!
Dress up the gift card by using this handy, easy to cut-and-fold free gift card holder. This gives the person something to "unwrap" (which always makes gift-giving more fun!).
Before printing, you can personalize the Bonus Gift Tag by typing in the person's name, or a greeting, such as Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday. Or type in whatever you desire. However, this is optional and you can simply use the Bonus Gift Tag as is, without personalizing.
Print the gift card holder. You can print the gift card holder on plain computer paper, colored paper (light colors are suggested), or card stock (which is a heavier paper, but do be aware that using card stock will make it a little more difficult to fold the gift card holder). You should print the free gift card holder on plain paper (not paper that has a design or background).
Cutting and folding the gift card holder is easy! Trim off the instructions by cutting along the heavy dotted line underneath the printed instructions. Before cutting out the gift card holder itself, note that tabs A, B, C, and D are marked. You might want to read through the instructions while you can still see the letters. Now, cut out the gift card holder by cutting along the small dotted line.
Put the gift card holder face down (design side down) on a flat surface. The inside of the gift card holder face up (plain white side).
Place gift card in the middle of the gift card holder. Now fold side tabs A and B inward, and tape or glue to close (a glue stick is great if young children are making the gift card holder). Fold tab C upward, and tape or glue to close. The gift card is now inside the gift card holder.
Fold tab D downward, and tape or glue to close the gift card holder. You can now use this as the gift itself, or put the gift card gift inside a card or other gift package.
Bonus Gift Tag: Cut out Bonus Gift Tag (trim around the entire circle, or trim only the gift tag image). Make a tape donut (circle of tape, sticky-side out) and put on the blank side of the Bonus Gift Tag. (As an alternative, use double-sided tape or glue.) Put Bonus Gift Tag over flap D on the back of the gift card holder as a decorative closure.
Optional: Rather than use the Bonus Gift Tag, use self-adhesive seals that you can buy in card shops, discount department stores, or office supply stores. These are usually found where stationery is being sold. This is handy if you are giving a number of gift cards as gifts, because it saves the time of trimming the Bonus Gift Tag.
Idea: Add a homemade touch to the free gift card holder by tying a ribbon around the gift card holder like you would a Christmas package.
